Second Level Supervision Service
During the execution of the activities related to electromechanical work, process interconnections and security systems on shallow water platforms in the “Sonda de Campeche, Mexico”, the Project Management Office (PMO) was implemented as administrative and technical support during the execution of the activities, basing this service on the best international practices for project management, in accordance with the 05 Process Areas and the 10 Areas of Knowledge, as established in the “Guide to the Project Management Body Of Knowledge” (PMBOK), issued by the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Based on this Project Management Guide (PMBOK), the following plans were developed and implemented in the project:
• Stakeholder management plan,
• Communications management plan,
• Schedule management plan (Critical Path and Earned Value),
• Project risk analysis management plan and
• Knowledge transfer.
Based on these plans and the analysis of the project information, which were generated during the execution of the works in the manufacturing yards, as well as in the Off-Shore facilities, weekly and monthly reports were issued in where the trends and projections of the completion dates of each of the project phases were integrated, as well as the project risk analysis report.
This information was used by the stakeholders for decision-making and action-taking in order to mitigate deviations in each of the important milestones of the project, ensuring with this the success of the project.
